I Lost 63 Pounds with the the Combination Plan!
For Debbie B., the bigger her waistline got, the thinner her patience level became. And reaching size 18 in clothes was the final straw.
She turned to eDiets, and using the Combination Plan the
5-foot-2 dieter shed an incredible 63 pounds. Today, this slim and sexy
size 8 says she is feeling and looking so much better. Lucky for us,
Debbie is sharing some of the secrets behind her success.
Past attempts
While she would lose pounds, here and there, eventually the pounds
would creep back on and her diet attempt would disappear. This time
around, she was determined to find a plan that worked.
"In the past, I had tried to lose weight on my own. I also tried
Weight Watchers, but I didn't go to the meetings," she said. "I just
got information from friends going. I was too embarrassed to go to
these meetings. I didn't feel very comfortable with myself. Then I
found eDiets and found out that nobody sees who you are unless you want
to post pictures. So I said, ‘OK, it's time to do something for me.
What do I have to lose except for weight?"
It's been four years since the day the 37-year-old joined the leading online diet and fitness destination and slimmed from her highest weight of 205 to a much healthier 142 pounds.
While her resolve to get healthy did come as an instant realization, her journey toward achieving it occurred gradually.
Every journey begins with one step
Every day she took a new step towards her new plan, replacing her old junk food favorites with delicious, healthy alternatives from the array of options available through eDiets with her Combination Plan. The more she tasted the sweet variety of flavors, the easier it became to say goodbye to the sugar-filled indulgences of her past. Slowly but surely, she began realizing that
true health had nothing to do with dieting deprivation.
>
"I slowly got into the plan so it wouldn't be such a shock. I
started making the changes gradually. In the beginning; I watched the
recipes and the menu guides, just to make sure I was still in my
calories. Then finally I started following it 100 percent," Debbie
says.
For Debbie, however, personal enjoyment of the food was not her main
concern. She made sure her whole family took pleasure in the new
healthy dishes.
"I wanted to make sure that my whole family enjoyed the food. I
didn't want to punish them because I had the weight problem, she
reveals. "So with eDiets they gave me plenty of different
varieties of recipes with my meal plan. Thankfully, they were
pleasantly surprised by how good the recipes were because they didn't
taste like diet food.
After receiving the family's approval at the dinner, table there was
no stopping Debbie. Her mind was set and ready to be patient while
adjusting. It turned out that she didn't have to wait too long to see
the results. Her weight started melting off within the first few weeks
of following the eDiets Combination Plan.
Support really helps
While watching her weight start coming off helped a great deal -- as
did the encouragement of her family, there were still times that Debbie
struggled to stay on track. Instead of giving up during these tough
times, she turned to her fellow eDiets members for support.
"When I first started, I went to almost every single meeting that
they had. The support was unbelievable. Just having other people going
through the same things out there to tell me, just take it slow, one
day at a time and it will come to you. It made all the difference in
the world.
The support made such a big difference, in fact, that she attributes
much of her weight-loss success to having it available to her whenever
she needed, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"If you are having a bad day, they help you get through it. They are
there not just when you're having problems with your diet but for
everything, they are there for you 100 percent. Within the last two
years I have been involved with the challenges. I am in the Creative
Challenge; I am both a captain and a moderator.
The challenges have been a great motivator for the determined
feature dieter, especially when it came to physical activity.
"I never really did any exercise. I was the type of person who would
turn the channels on the television and watch the exercise programs on
the television and think I'm doing something. In reality, the only
thing I was doing was sitting on the couch watching them jump around
and do all their exercise.
Her days of sitting on the sidelines watching the action pass her by
are over. Today, she makes sure to get moving every single day. She's
stopped making excuses and always finds time to make it a part of her
life. During lunch breaks, she makes the effort to put on some
comfortable shoes and go for a walk.
Debbie's dramatic transformation has impacted her life in every way.
Her new goal is to lose her last 7 pounds and maintain it.
"Losing weight and getting healthy gave me so much confidence to be
able to do anything I wanted to do. I just changed careers; it gave me
the strength to be able to do that. I was never able to do that before
because I was walking in my own shadow. My husband absolutely loves it.
He thinks it's great. My kids are so proud of me. It's just amazing
because I feel like I am a totally different person.

Children's Health Organization Disputes the Effectiveness of Governor Schwarzenegger's Council On Physical Fitness and Sports
Michael Torchia, Health and Wellness Expert says, "Governor Schwarzenegger's Council offers no working solutions to eradicate childhood obesity and has no strategic plan, proper structuring or qualified team of experts to accomplish long term lifestyle changes for children. It's impossible to have the epidemic of childhood obesity in California decline just offering suggestions and prizes for short term achievements." In addition, the Governor's Council is sponsored by General Mills, who manufactures food products containing, refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, preservatives and genetically modified ingredients.
Los Angeles, CA (Worldwide News Release) May 7, 2007 -- Michael Torchia, Health and Wellness Expert says, "Governor Schwarzenegger's Council offers no working solutions to eradicate childhood obesity and has no strategic plan, proper structuring or qualified team of experts to accomplish long term lifestyle changes for children. It's impossible to have the epidemic of childhood obesity in California decline just offering suggestions and prizes for short term achievements." In addition, they are sponsored by General Mills, who manufactures food products containing refined sugars, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and genetically modified ingredients.
Mr. Torchia, creator of the Children's Fitness Academy (CFA), believes the Governor's Council is consorting with manufacturers of food products containing unhealthy ingredients and implementing ineffective programs for children.
"It is indefensible that anyone, least of all a Governor of the United States would consider an endorsement from a company such as this," says Robert Scott Bell, Director of Product Development for Natural Immunogenics Corp. "These endorsements make as much sense as having the Columbian Medellin Cartel sponsoring America's war on drugs. Unless, of course, you consider the use of artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, genetically modified ingredients, hydrogenated oils and refined sugars to be essential nutrients for the health of our children. Since the aforementioned food additives are embraced to varying degrees by the majority sponsor of the Governor's Council, they are actively engaging in creating the many health complications, identified under the medical term Syndrome-X (obesity, diabetes, etc) that the president claims to be fighting against."
"Products like those made by General Mills cannot be consumed in moderation," said Torchia. "There is nothing moderate about ingesting substances that result in chronic, degradation diseases. This is the delusion that somehow allows mass food processors like General Mills to convince nutritionally ignorant politicians that they are promoting good health."
After Mr. Torchia offered to combine forces with the Governor's Council, utilizing his star power and affluent clients, Ken Rogers, Executive Director for the Governor's Council, said, "We don't want to build alliances with any other organizations and our only goals are to run the Governor's Challenge and give out awards for completion." Brent Berger, Operations Specialist, with expertise in business development, business strategy and finance agrees, "It would be virtually impossible for the Governor's Council to achieve any substantial reduction in the epidemic of obesity in California with their methods. What they need is a well-qualified team of experts and proper strategic planning to have a significant turnaround in childhood obesity."
In addition, on the Governor's Council's website the contact link for Jake Steinfeld, Chairman of the Governor's Council goes to his personal website selling all his exercise gadgets that are seen on late night TV and no mention of the Governor's Council or donations for their organization from products sold.
