Exercise in the Zone

"Your workout doesn't have to be an event, like when you go to the gym and 'work out.' You can just make time during your lunch break to take a walk. Make a conscious effort to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park the farthest away in the parking lot. Anything you can do to add steps to your day. That's the nice thing about walking: no gym fees and no special equipment.
This is how I started: I bought a pedometer and started keeping track of how many steps I walked in a day. I was surprised to find out how few I took. So, I made the changes outlined above, and the steps started to add up. And it is fun to peek and see how far I have gone! This will inspire you to get your lunch walk in, or a walk at any other time of the day that works for you."
