| Banta Diet is one of
the ketogenic diets. Ketosis is a
biochemical condition that occurs when the body
produces ketones (or ketone bodies) from the fat coming
both from food and from body's fat depots. Ketone
bodies provide energy for the body's needs when
there's little or no carbohydrates coming with food.
After 1-2 weeks, the body adapts to
ketosis, insulin
concentration in the blood decreases, and less fat is
stored by the body, while more body fat is burnt for
energy.
There's a most important condition
grossly overlooked
by the authors of low carb diets. To make ketosis
possible, a meal should contain at least 1.5g of fat
per every 1g of protein plus carbohydrate combined.
We combined this requirement into a
formula called Fat Burning
Index.
Only Fat Burning Index of 1.5 or higher
makes food "fat burning" and allows eating without
portion and calorie control.
