There are three factors associated with losing body fat: nutrition, exercise and consistency
I'm focusing only on nutrition, because it's the most difficult for just about everyone. Based on the fact that I'm a competitive, natural (drug-free) bodybuilder, I must sometimes reduce my body fat to ridiculously low levels while preserving as much muscle mass as possible.
Based on this fact, I've come to learn a few things along the way concerning how the human body reacts to nutritional variation. In addition, because of my passion for learning, I have experimented with just about every diet known to mankind: high-carbohydrate diets, low -arbohydrate diets, high-fat, low-fat and a host of others.
Why have I tried so many variations and programs? Because I wanted to get a true understanding of how a specific ratio of protein, carbohydrate, fat and calories affects my body. Science and research is vital in the area of nutrition, but if I had never used my body as a lab experiment, how would I ever really know the pros and cons of a particular diet?
There are more than 30,000 diets registered with the Food and Drug Administration! Why so many? Because everyone knows there’s a buck in diet programs, and everyone knows that as soon as a person fails on one, they will jump to another.
The truth of the matter is losing body fat through proper nutrition is not all that difficult. The first thing you have to do is eliminate the words "diet" and "lose weight" from your vocabulary. From now on, I want you to replace the word "diet" with "nutrition," and the words "lose weight" with "lose body fat."
There are several factors to understand in losing body fat through intelligent nutrition. These factors will assist you in creating a strategy for success. I will not venture too deep into science, but just enough to provide you ammunition. Instead, I will focus more on a real life specific strategy you can implement. One that’s easy to manipulate.
